AuthorHouse Pitchfest 2013

hollywood_signJuly has come and gone, and with it another Pitchfest Los Angeles event, where AuthorHouse writers pursued their dreams of seeing their story on the big screen.

The event was held over the weekend of July 13 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, and started with a Friday reception. The attendees met Robert Kosberg, the “King of the Pitch,” as well as Keith Ogorek, the senior vice president of marketing at Author Solutions.

The next day, the authors got down to business. The morning was spent in workshops where they learned how to pitch their ideas. These new skills came in handy because, that afternoon, they actually delivered their pitch to representatives from various entertainment companies.

Imagine going into a room with seven movie representative you have never seen before, sitting across from them, and relating something you are extremely passionate about in the hope that they may garner a glimpse of your excitement and vision.  And then imagine feeling like it went really well.  Regardless of what may come, that you were prepared and that you gave it the best shot you could.

Thank you H. D., and thank you to all the attendees who made this year’s Pitchfest a success!
